    I have never driven to California. I'm sure it's drivable sort of...but it's like an 18 hour drive isn't it?

    I don't know how long the drive would take. I've never driven directly to colorado. We went south to LA first, cut over to AZ and NM, then to CO from there.

    It's very do-able though.

    When I was in 2nd grade my parents painted me sandwich board front and back Tarot cards for my Hallowe'en costume; I was the high priestess, my little brother (who had won the town costume contest the previous year in tricorn and other revolutionary war garb) had to content himself with being the 3 of swords. Ha ha. But then in 4th grade he got to be an intergalactic bug with 6 arms and everything, and I had to be a can of space friggin' raid. Guess who won that year? I just can't see how my mom could even justify a claim that he wasn't her favorite.

    Sounds like you have interesting parents, Margret. My favorite costume when I was a kid was the one time I made a Bigfoot costume out of a bunch of grocery bags and construction paper. The killer part was the feet, which were made from one bag apiece and had big claws.

    I have a tarot deck but I've never used it, and lost track of it somewhere in New Mexico. Maybe it never made it this far. It was "Chinese Style" art and it was too pretty for me to touch. Duh. But I am not attuned, like Nate, with the cosmic harmonies. So it prolly wouldn't do me too much good to read my own tarot except as a reflective technique.

    I used to read Tarot for my firends, but I chickened out a few years ago, because my readings kept coming true!

    So now I just read for myself, when I am confused or in need of guidance. I don't look too deeply into the future though, as I believe the future is what I make it, not some arbitrary hand of fate.

    However, the future as revealed by Tarot is based on the current situation, which I guess is why it comes true. Is it possible to believe in free will and destiny?

    Lately I have been thinking more about my dreams. I just wish I would dream the winning lotto numbers instead of bizarre things that will happen in a couple of years time (although my last dream was pretty cool - about a new house).
