Found in the TV Focus section of New Orleans paper this Sunday: "Our VCR is stuck in 1958" "If your VCR has a year setting on it, which most do, you will not be able to use the programming recording feature (or VCR plus) after Dec. 31st, 1999. Don't throw your VCR away (as if!)Instead, in 2000, set it for the year 1972,as the days are the same. Most manufacturers won't tell you about this. They would like you to buy a new Y2K VCR-uh. "It's come into the vernacular that judgment has been substituted for opinion because it sounds more important/final/irrevocable. Like a legal "judgement." Kennedy started that "In my judgement" usage. I ain't no judge. Catch a grip folks. not a gripe. post a post. post haste. nothing personal. What do you think of the heart of the matter, namely the message. ? smoke that chip off your shoulder, I've got a boulder as big as my shoulder, let's send some more rock grams like . . i believe it was Swine that turned me on to the crack gram. via intranet. "You can't smoke just one" I'm laughing reel hard. but then the crackhead that you send it too wouldn't receive it because they have pawned their pc. in a hand basket folks, the world has gone to hell in one. and we are watching the demise. hold on. please. peach i meant Peace, please. |
Sure, why not pretend it's 1972? Maybe the TV programing will come with us into pretend-land, and we can watch our boys winning the hearts and minds of the Vietnamese as we eat our dinners. |

However, it might not work on some VCR chipsets if the time is encoded as the number of seconds after a hardcoded time that's after January 1, 1972. |
