    US troops rough up Chalabi

    So it seems that US troops and Iraqi police raided Ahmed Chalabi's place and held a gun to his head because he's been critical of US policy in Iraq. This is the same guy who's group, which still gets $300k/month from the government, provided most of the bogus data on WMD in Iraq. This is the same Chalabi who the US tried to install as the Iraqi leader, and has been the favored Iraqi son of the neocons for the past decade or so.

    So now they're holding a gun to his head and telling everyone about it? Do they really think he can play the "I'm an Iraqi patriot, oppressed by the evil Americans" card? Puhlease!

    Seems to me they're being tough on Chalabi to get him sympathy with the Iraqi people.

    I mean, if they really wanted to silence him, they'd do it quietly. Warn him first, then if he didn't back down kill him and make it look like an insurgent did it, just another victim of a roadside bomb.

    This is too public. It looks staged.
